Hi,

I was informed by Uniblue spyeraser that a tmp file was infected by qwikspy. I ran avg anti-spyware, superantispyware, and panda antivirus and the logs are below... none of the other programs picked up on this. At first I did a pc recovery and used the HP recovery (D) drive to reformat my C drive. I backed up all my files on external drive and have not reinstalled any of them yet. I was hoping this would of cleared up the problem. But when i ran the uniblue spyeraser it was still dectecting the infected tmp file. This file is produced at start up. It is deleted when the computer is shutdown and reappears when the computer is restarted with a different file name. It always starts with ~DF.... .tmp the last four charactors change when a new file is created. Also this file is not created when the computer is in safe mode. the file is 16kb in size and is a group of characters I dont understand but most of it is y's with two dots above it, and the words root entry are half way through it. When I try and delete the file it says cant delete used by another person or computer. When it is detected by spyeraser and I hit clean it starts the process and says has to restart computer to finish the removal but when the computer starts up again the file is back with another name. Is this a normal file to be created or have I been infected? Also by using my D recovery and still having the problem mean that is infected too? I did make dvd discs of the recovery drive when I first got the computer a year and a half ago so I could reformat the whole thing and use them to start a new. Thanks for you help.
