New hard drive, GPT or MBR?

I got a new 320 gb hard drive and before I initialize it I would like to get a brief run down of the difference between MBR and GPT. A note says GPT is recommended for hard drives greater than 2 tb or itanium-based computers. From what I read at Microsoft's FAQ about GPT (http://www.microsoft...ge/GPT_FAQ.mspx) it looks like GPT is better. Any thoughts?
