Hi everyone:

This is my second ever forum I've ever joined--the other is a chicken forum which may in fact be more my speed...I'm just at my wits end and ready to toss the computer to the street and follow the poor unsuspecting fool home to see how frustration rules their lives...I bought an acer for my daughter last christmas, and within a day, she filled it with her music and movies, and then proceeded to complain how slow the computer was when she tried to use msn...I ended up getting the darn thing back, took off all her junk, and it still runs like (forgive the cliche) like molasses in january...I've tried everything-removed programs, installed nortons 360 to clean what I suspected was there (turns out nothing) and still I'm typing on a snail..once explorer opens, pages load quickly and I can go forward and back, but every program I try to open seems to allow nap time between clicking on it and opening...alot of freezing going on too..when I opened task manager (to shut down the darn frozen pages, I find 86task manager windows open)...it's a lovely shade of green across the bottom of the bar, but I'm beginning to think I've found the problem, but dont know how to solve it..does anyone have any idea what the problem is or how to solve it???HELP, please... :)

Use of one program to scan is not enough. Please check out the Malware Removal Guides and Tutorials for additional self-help. If that doesn't help then I recommend you go to the Malware section of this forum and follow the instructions at the top. If at the end of the cleanup process you are still having difficulty, and you may not be, then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

Please be patient as the "Malware Forum" is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the Malware Section, please return to this thread. Please do not post a HiJackThis log in this thread unless asked to do so and then only as an attachment. To attach log, when requested, either change the .log extension to .txt, or put the log into a compressed (zipped) folder.

Please post back if your problem has been solved.
