I am having a slight problem. I bought a Compaq Presario PC in July, and it gave me a 60 day trial of Microsoft Office. After that 60 days was finished, I only used computers at school. For chirstmas, I got Office Home and Student 2007. When I tried to install it to my computer, it said "The lanuage of this installation package is not supported my your system." I then emailed the microsoft customer care and told them about my problem and they gave me a few solutions, none of which worked. I downloaded AVG free, because before then I had only spyware terminator, and it didn't protect me from viruses. I scanned, and now I have for viruses, all of which are win32/polycrypt. I assume that polycrypt means the language of my computer, and that someone has changed it. All four of the viruses are in the vault. When I bought the computer, it didn't come with a recovery disc, apparently I was supposed to make one, and unfortunatly never did. So now I am stuck with my computer in the state it is, and no knowledge of how to fix it. If anyone has any idea of how to fix it, or even reformat my computer, please let me know. :)

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
