I just bought a new iPod touch and when I connect it to my computer, nothing happens. I've tried switching the USB ports, and I did all the possible steps for fixing the problem from the actual Apple Support site...but it's just not showing up. The iPod turns on just fine, however, but on the screen is the iTunes logo with a picture of the cable.

I'm thinking this has something to do with my computer, apparently...because I've had this problem recently with my old 20GB iPod which I returned to the Apple store.

Thanks ?

XP doesn't tell you "found new hardware" when you plug something in that its seen before.
In your case it may know it had the previous Ipod but you plug the new one in and its essentially the same device.
Does it show up anywhere - My Computer, ITunes, etc?

Perhaps.

But no, I've checked in My Computer, iTunes, & even that Device Manager thing...but, no go.
