.avi file type problem

im having a problem on my computer where it is not letting me play any .avi file types in windows media player or quicktime

Is there a special codec i nned for this or is is it becuase the size of the video is to big (5.2 gb of recorded game play)

Please help

try using VLC media player.

select the location that is closest to where you are located
based on my experience, this player can play all the file types i want to play. So i know .avi will work using this player.
