Hello,

I have a 13 year old stepson who would like to have his own email account. He currently has limited access to the internet as his own user on Windows XP. I would like to set him up with a free email account of some kind, but I dont want to have to give him unbridled access to the internet, and would like to keep the spam out. Does anyone have any ideas on how best to do this? I want him to be computer savvy, but I want to control his exposure to seamy side of the internet.

Thanks for reading,

Jim

gmail has excellent spam filtering. If you set him up with gmail, make sure your email account is the "email of record" for his gmail, that way you can always get back in there to supervise, even if he changes the password.
