Hey, So i bought Gears of War for PC and it turns out i cant support it :)

everything else in my computer can support it except the GFX card.

Got any recommondations for me? i would prefer if it was under $100 and its PCI-Express

EDIT:

also, if i have a ATI card right now, and if i get a Nvidia Card, will there be any problems in the Drivers etc?

and would it be good to have both cards installed? or would that be point less?

I don't see any reason why if you switch cards you would get any problems, you should probably get rid of the ati drivers, although I speak with no experience and I'm just guessing. $100 roughly translates to somewhere around £50. In the uk you wouldn't be able to get a very good card with that maybe a lower end nvidia 7 series I'm not sure, I don't know what the specs are for gears of war. But they'll probably be quite high. So theres a chance that you won't be able to run gears of war well with a budget of $100.

I agree that $100 won't get you very far, but if that is the limit, I would get the 8600GT. If you could get $50 more between now and February 21st, I would get the 9600GT, which will be released on that date and be twice as powerful as the 8600GT.

Gears Of War:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
OS: Windows Vista or Windows XP
Processor 2.4+ GHz Intel; 2.0+ Ghz AMD
RAM 1 GB
Hard Drive 12 GB free hard drive space
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce 6600+, ATI X700+

I would suggest getting this graphics card, it's an awesome card for a low price: XFX Geforce 8600 GT XXX

Or if you want to spend even less you could get this: XFX Geforce 8500 GT

That's just my 2 cents worth,

I've got that card and I can run MTW2 with little lag

And MTW2 would be... ?

Not that it matters, since we are talking about being able to play Gears of War.

Anyways, my recommendation still stands, though considering your specs, a new GPU will unfortunately be bottlenecked by your CPU and RAM (or lack thereof).

I think its a combination of having good hardware mixed with not so good hardware, it causes lag(I think)

Well it is the card that everyones been recommending, or ou could wait and pay moar for the 9600gt. It says in the specs that it is direct x 10, I'm guessing that it would work with direct x9 software.

Yes, it is Direct X 10 Compatible, And just like droidack said, if you wait and save up to buy the 9600 GT then you will be able to play games even better. But if you don't feel like waiting I would say you should go with the XFX Geforce 8600 GT XXX on newegg for $79.99. :) and you should probably get an extra gig of ram to go with your choice of GPU. :)
