I was wondering if I put in 1 2gb stick of 533mhz ram
would that run as fast as two 1gb sticks of 533mhz ram

Im just asking cause i assumed that if you have 2 sticks of ram instead of 1 it would take the load off of the single chip.

Well I would presume so. But if you had two sticks of 1gb 533MHz ram running in dual channel, I think you may see slightly better performance. I don't really know all that much about memory though.
