Follow directions in the MS article, see if that helps:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310575

If not, Try this, often helps:

Shutdown and unplug all USB devices.
Boot to BIOS Setup and load defaults (F5 or F9 usually).
Boot XP, open a command prompt, enter set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1. Leave the command prompt window open.
Open Device Manager, click on View then Show hidden devices. Scroll down to USB and click on the plus to expand it. Uninstall them one at a time. DO NOT uninstall your mouse if you are using a USB mouse.
Shutdown and reboot, let XP rediscover everything and load necessary drivers. This can take a few minutes, be patient.

Now try the USB device, see what happens.

bfu9278, sorry if that made things worse. That's never happened before.

You said

as my printer
also didn't run anymore..

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software/driver?

as in device manager also
usb doesn't show anymore...

What usb are you talking about? After you deleted everything then rebooted, did you see the messages about XP finding them and loading the drivers again?

You can try using System Restore to go back to before you deleted all the USB entries, that should get you back to where you were.

Okay, try opening Control Panel then open Add Hardware and scan for new devices. That should pick up all the basic USB stuff like root hubs, Host controllers, etc. If it doesn't then there is something seriously wrong with your XP installation or your hardware.

Let me know how this goes please.

I think you are at the point where you need to try a Repair Install. Do you have a XP CD? If so, follow directions HERE.

This does an in place install of XP over your existing install. It leaves you data alone and most programs should still continue to run though you will have to reinstall some.

" set up did not find any hard disk drive installed
in your computer.....to quit press F3 "

then my computer will reboot again...

Do you have a SATA drive? If so, you may need to load the DATA driver from diskette during the install, when you see the message that says Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver, press F6, insert the diskette and continue.
