Hello,

I've owned my lap top for approximately 2 years now and just recently I've been getting a "problem applying profile" message when I turn on the computer and attempt to connect to my wireless network. I am however, able to connect to my neighbors wireless network at this time. I have an Intel Proset Wireless Adapter installed (version 10.5.1.0). I'm able to fix this problem by going to control panel, clicking add/remove, running the repair wizard and then rebooting. However, this takes a while to complete and is starting to become extremely frustrating to go through every time the problem occurs.

Is there a way I could fix my wireless card for good and get rid of this problem?

Thanks!

is this a built in wireless or a PCMCIA slide in ...
if its built in use the device manager to uninstall the onboard wireless ...reboot...windows will "find" the new hardware and should reinstall the drivers..
another method would be go to windows update and get any hardware updates it shows for your computer...

This is a built in device. I will try the uninstall and let you know my results.

I ended up using the chat assistance on dell's web site and had them remote into my computer. They set my wireless device up so it's now controlled by windows and it appears to be working correctly.
