Windows system32/hal.dll missing,today i help sister run some virus scan and clean up her notebook,then i run disk cheanup and it deleted all system files.and i click restart,and i saw this word "Windows system32/hal.dll missing".
i insert the windows xp cd,but it cannot run the instalation.
it just come out with this word system32/hal.dll missing .
really need help,urgent..
if my computer i can format or give others people repair it.
but this is not my notebook.
anyone know how to fix it ??

Hello wen9x88...

When you tried to boot to the cd, did you see the prompt "Press any key to boot from cd" appear on the screen? You may have to set the boot priority in BIOS Setup to use the cd-rom drive as first boot device.
