I use a Dell Optiplex GX370 with Windows XP SP 2 Home. When I configure the email client, Outlook Express, the password is shown as saved but when I try to Receive mail I have to enter the password. Also, I can't Send email because it times out looking for the password on the server.

Any help will be aprreciated.

Thanks

Hello batchos and welcome to Geeks to Go!

Sorry for the late response.
  • Go to Tools | Accounts
  • Click on the Mail tab
  • Double-click the account (or highlight it and hit the Properties button)
  • Click the Servers tab
  • In the Outgoing Mail Server section, clear the My server requires authentication option.

Let me know if this helps,

Ax
