How does one echo a ">" character? I'm trying to make a simple program that wants to echo > on a line, but this will not work.
<snipped>
echo testcode>testcode
because > is supposed to write the text before it to the file after it.

I know it will work if you wrap quotes " " around the whole thing, but then it echoes the quotes as well.

Any takers?
