Hi,

My laoptop Hp compaq nx5000 has stopped working. When I start it up the fan starts up for about 5 seconds (if that long) and then stops again, with the power light giving one yellow flash. It doesn't even get to P.O.S.T. or a screen response. Does this indicate the processor?

TIA

Hello, and welcome to Geeks To Go.
You are having a problem with your power supply, or your mother board.
I am afraid that it will most likely be the motherboard.
Your processor would be able to cause problems, but you would get a beep code on post.
Please go here for more information.

Yeah I figured it's likely to be a dead lapdog. Off to the shop, thanks for your quick and helpful response.
