Letter Key no longer works

I have my friend's laptop using Windows XP which was filled with viruses. One virus kept typing the letter i whenever the cursor was placed anywhere. I think I removed the virus but not sure since now the i key no longer works... all other keys work? The Anitvirus that was on the system was Kaspersky and I also used Online Trend Housecall and it is coming up clean but the letter i still does not work. And since that was the letter that the virus was using when it was on, I feel it is possibly still there?
