Hello

Can anyone assist me please.

My computer has an Intel 4 CPU 2 Ghz model 2 stepping 4 speed 1992 mhz.
The motherboard is a Micro Star MS6513 also marked Medion 3500 Version 1.
The problem is that the RAM is only 256 MB. It is a Siemens 256 MB- PC2100 -0139- PA 3012.
According to Task Manager CPU usage is 100%.
I have done a Crucial scan and this indicates maximum allowable RAM is 1024MB.
My question is can anyone recommend a make of RAM and supplier of a 1024 or if I should start off by buying another 256 and place in the spare slot.

Many thanks.

you can buy a 1GB memory or two 512MB memory sticks. If you want to upgrade your memory with cheaper price, you can add another 512MB memory stick in the spare slot in the motherboard.
You mentioned that your CPU USAGE is 100%? There might be a serious problem in your computer, it's not suppose to run up to 100% if you are not running any program at the time. There might be a lot of things running in the background it might be spyware or virus. I suggest you go to malware forum and asked the experts there. Im still in training so i cannot help you when it comes to spyware issues yet. Hope this helps.

In addition to the topic posted above me, may I highly suggest the following program?

FreeRAM XP Pro
http://www.yourwaresolutions.com/

Its great for using your RAM to the best of the RAMs capabilities, and preventing crashes caused from lack of RAM.
