Every time I open any of the Microsoft Office 2003 applications--Outlook, Word, Excel, or Power Point the Windows Installer window pops up saying "Preparing to Install..." and then disappears. It flashes on and off several times each time I go into the application. When it does this, it appears to be looking in my A drive (3 1/2 disk drive) for something (but there's nothing in there). My daughter recently had a diskette in there with a couple Word documents on it but there were no installation programs or anything.

I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Office Professional 2003 to fix it but it didn't help.

What are these applications looking to install when they open and how can I make it stop?

Thanks!

After posting this entry, I saw another very similar one: "stopping windows installer popping up ?"
One of the replies to this topic said to use the Event Viewer to find out what program was trying to be installed.

I did this and found the problem to be with Adobe Reader (an update had been installed which interfered with the older version). I uninstalled the older version and this took care of the problem.

Thanks soooooo much!!! Praise Jesus and God bless you all!!!
