I just downloaded CS3 3 days ago... i downloaded the update and now when i open it it gives me an error report

Can you please tell us, what this error message/report says?

Did you get the update through Adobe Update Software?

it just says "photoshop has encountered errors and needs to close. sorry for any convinience." and it asks me if i want to send an error report or not... and yes i got the update off of photoshop

Try doing a system restore BEFORE you installed that update, and run a repair install if that does not fix it.

Did you try the System Restore yet? You can do a repair install by:

Start
Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs
Goto Adobe Photoshop and click change/remove
See if you can find a repair install

yes i did and it didn't work... but when i try the fix thing it just tells me to install cs3 again... not reinstall install the same thing again

Hm. I am not really good with apps. Lets wait until a pro in graphics programs comes along and takes over. I have exhausted all my ideas..
