When i switch on my laptop, a process from my anti virus is slowing down the system. The anti virus is F-Secure and its process is fssm32.exe.
Is that normal, or can I do anythin to prevent it?

Both AVG, and Avast offer the home version for free.Yes that was in my consideration. But before spending more money again, i would like to know if there is somthing else which i can do.
