Hi there,

I found the ASUS webpage for that motherboard, link.

It says you are able to run up to a 3.2GHz socket 478 processor with a 533MHz FSB. So the 800MHz FSB processor is out of the options list. It looks like the processor you have described in post one is the fastest processor this motherboard can support.

Socket 478 for Intel Pentium 4/ Celeron up to 3.2 GHz+
Intel Hyper-Threading Technology ready
Supports Intel Prescott FSB 533MHz CPU

Cheers

P4-3.40 GHz (800 FSB, L2 cache:1MB, rev.G1)

will work with a bios update to 1009.008

Well good work there!

If your BIOS is an earlier release than that, an update will have you running ready for the replacement processor.
