Vundo Virus and Worm.Win32.Runouce.b

2 weeks ago my computer started acting strange with the icons popping on and off and I could not copy anything to CD's and I could not restore back to an earlier date from Windows XP. A-squared found the Worm.Win32.Runouce.b and deleted the files. My computer did not improve. I have a blank screen with no icons or menu bar at the bottom. I can only access anything from the Task Manager. I can go through Task Manager to get online still. Last night, Norton found the Object name C:Windows\System332\pmkhh.dll from the Trojan.Vundo of which it was unable to repair - access denied. Yet I ran a full system scan of Norton today and it showed nothing? I ran the VundoFix and it found 5 files while scanning. It removed all of them except c:\WINDOWS\system32\fccawxu.dll which it could not delete. I ran it twice to no avail.

I still have to open things through the Task Manager and have no icons. I do have my system restore turned off right now. I can still get my computer to boot in safe mode, but don't know what to do there. I have a desktop Emachine with a restore DVD. I don't know if it has a windows repair on it or not. I am afraid to try it. Is that my only solution to this dilemma? I am not very computer literate. Any help would be appreciated.
