I just got a HP NC8230 with a fresh install of XP Pro. I installed Office SBE 2003. Now when we try to drag and drop or tap/click with the touchpad it does not always work. Sometime it will function, other times it will not work and you hve to use the button. This afternoon on freecell it wouldn't pickup a card to move it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, I should have stated that it appears to have SP2 installed.

Hi Shane77624.

Opinion on:

I would recommend that you disable tap to click. It causes more problems than it's worth. Get used to using the buttons like a regular mouse and you'll be better off.
Opinion off

Other than that, download the latest Synaptics Touchpad driver, see if that helps: http://h20000.www2.h...mp;swEnvOID=228

I really like the tap feature. I had one of the L2000 mdls. that was stolen last week and it had an on/off button just above the pad that would allow you to disable the pad when you needed to. My problem here is that often the buttons (left) alsong with the pad will not pickup an object and drag it. I will try the updated driver when I gain access to highspeed back at work (I only have dialup here at the house).
