I submit my problem to the astute team here at geeks. Win XP - SP2.
I have done as much scrubbing as I have the knowledge to do. Laptop seems to be infected with "psw.onlinegames" there were also some "generic" "hupigon13" and "win32.delf.uv" files that I think I've scrubbed out. I run one MMO game, "2moons", which employs "Gameguard" by INCA Internet - I am suspect is the root of the problem. I came here because another issue with "psw.onlinegames" was resolved so well from another post:
http://www.geekstogo...d-t182493.html)

As per the forum FAQs I used ATF Cleaner first, my system restore has been wiped AFTER a clean report from AVG, PCTools Spyware Doctor, Spybot, and Ad-aware. I disabled some suspect programs from MSCONFIG - they have since been disabled by Spybot & MSCONFIG now runs as "Normal Startup". Previously, my restore files had been infected at every restore point so toggled system restore off to lose the corrupt restore points.

Please note: I had to rename the HiJackThis.exe to prog-hjt.exe for it to even run. I really believe I'm still infected - if HJT could not run under its native name.

I thank you for your help in advance - I certainly do not have the knowledge to decipher this log or any logs that are generated from the programs you advise us to run. I know your time is valuable, and it is appreciated.

Thank you for your review and consideration.

During the infection, the hosts file was being re-written with re-directs. I think I have that stopped. The last hosts file mod. was made by Spybot naming all known mal-ware to loop back to local 127.0.0.1 - Before that Internet Explorer was hi-jacked going where-ever it was directed.

I also see in extra.txt -> I believe there is a sister game involved netmarbleJP\dekaron may be suspect. (dekaron is now being supported as "2moons" by www.acclaim.com) I don't see the "netmarbleJP" in my directory tree.

Ok

Please download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

      -----------------------------------------------------------

  • Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Time for some housekeeping
  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK

    • Posted Image

The above procedure will delete the following:

    • ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
    • VundoFix backups, if present
    • The C:\Deckard folder, if present
    • The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
  • Reset the clock settings.
  • Hide file extensions, if required.
  • Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
  • Clean System Restore points.

Also delete anything that we used that is left over.
===================================
After that I see no malware present in your logs are you still having problems of any kind?

Thank you kadhad. Things seem to be running smoothly - I think one of the diagnostic progs tried to reset my home page and search - but I just reset to Google.

Ran ComboFix /U. Clock is good and I will clear all restore points after this. HiJackThis.exe will now run under its own name.

Before coming to the forums I uninstalled all Acclaim 2moons program (the MMO) and associated Gameguard. I still see some things from the log I would like to let HJT fix. Can you tell me if its okay to let it fix the entries below? Can I safely have HJT deal with all the DPF's?

By Acclaim:
O16 - DPF: {69EF49E5-FE46-4B92-B5FA-2193AB7A6B8A} (GameLauncher Control) - http://www.acclaim.c.../acclaim_v7.cab

By Netmarble (Japanese version of game)
O16 - DPF: {26417FBF-5235-4084-B8FD-DA6A956CE837} (CPActiveXGameRun Control) - http://game.netmarbl...iveXGameRun.cab
O16 - DPF: {6FC19219-C47E-4880-9A79-D218A1C374F9} (NMJTransX Control) - http://www.netmarble...b/NMJTransX.cab

By a redirect (I believe seeing this on my corrupted Hosts file previously - but I'm not 100% sure)
O16 - DPF: {BD08A9D5-0E5C-4F42-99A3-C0CB5E860557} (CSolidBrowserObj Object) - http://cdn1.acclaimd...lidstateion.cab

Yes you may fix those and also when you uninstalled Combofix it cleaned your system restore points automatically.
