I loaded messages from a digital voice recorder into my laptop w/ vista via the microphone port. The files show up as windows media audio files in the documents section. When I select and hit play, it switches me over to windows media player and shows it's playing, but no sound is heard. Please help. thanks

Hello bookwriter,

Loading messages from a digital voice recorder to your laptop through the input port seems like a roundabout way of doing things. If it is a digital voice recorder, you should be able to upload the files directly from the device to your system. That may be what your problem is.
