Renewing problem

I havn't been able to go to some sites like google.com so i tryed to check my modem.When i hit repair i get this error:Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed:Renewing your ip address.I have tryed unpluging my modem and plugging it back still no hope, so does any1 know what i can do? :)

Are you connected directly to your modem or do you have a router in between?

Also, I'd like for you to go to the Start menu, then find "Run" and click it. In the Run box, type "cmd". When the black window appears, type "ipconfig" and let me know the results.

im connected directly to the modem i got a error when i typed the ipconfig it said ipconfig is not a recognized as an internaol or external command operable program or batch file.

You are using Windows XP correct?

If you would try that again and make sure that you type "ipconfig" without the quotes.
