  • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\PROGRAM FILES\DRMUPGDS
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • OTMoveit2 will create a log of moved files in the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder. The log's name will appear as the date and time it was created, with the format mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Open this log in Notepad and post its contents in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.
================================
Can you make a screenshot of the image on your desktop that you would like to get rid of so I may see what it is and please attach it here.
Thanks.

Let me know how it goes.

Now click on Fix Checked and then close Hijackthis.
=====================================
After that please update your Java:
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version of Java components and upgrade the application. Beware it is NOT supported for use in 9x or ME and probably will not install in those systems

Ugrading Java:After that
  • Go to Start > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.

Fix the things I said in the previous post with Hijackthis then do the following:

Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.

    Then you should be able to delete that folder.
    ==============================
    Reboot into Normal mode

    Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:[list]
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4 and save it to your desktop.
  • Scroll down to where it says "JJava Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4...allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Read the License Agreement and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement". The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save the file to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u4-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
========================================
Then your log is clean.

Ok....I followed all of your steps.......I downloaded Java 6 update 3, as requested in the first blog, and then followed your directions in the 2 blog (removed mywebsearch) and attempted to download Java 6 update 4, but there was an error in the final step and the download failed??? I still have it saved to my desktop.( Do I need to remvoe the one I downloaded from the 1st bolg?) Is there something else I can do?
Also, my computer runs so slow................are there programs that I can remove to increase the speed? Or do I need more memory? Any advice that you can give is greatly appreciated.
Thank you again.

download failed

If the Update 4 download failed then try to redownload it.
===================================
Go Here and download CCleaner.
Double click on it to install it.
Click on your language then Next then I agree then next again.
When you come to the Installation options window (the next window after clicking next)
Uncheck all but Create a Desktop Shortcut.
Then Click on Install.

After it is installed double click on the icon on your desktop to run it.
Choose Run Cleaner then yes at the prompt to permanently delete files.
It may take a while so let it finish.

After that Click on the icon to the left called Registry
Then click on scan for issues.
Then click on Fix selected issues.
And then yes to making a backup.
It will save it in your MY Documents Folder.
Then Click on Fix all selected issues and yes that you really want to do it.
After that is done then exit out of CCleaner.

You can uninstall this when you are done.
===============================
After that go to This link to show you how to defragment your hard drive.

Doing all of these things together should help out the overall speed.

If you fixed all of the items I asked you to in my previous post with Hijackthis then that is all that can be removed.
If it is still slow after doing the above then I suggest that you upgrade your ram.

Let me know if you have any more problems. :)

Hi there.....................I bet you didnt think you hear back from me! LOL
Well, ever since I did the updates as requested in the above post, my computer has been giving me server and network errors. Not sure if they are related to the changes we made.....but, hoping you can help?
Everytime I start the computer up an error pops up and says that "the server is not responding" and has an icon to push that says "switch to" (or something like that) to correct the problem, but that does not seem to help. Also, everytime I exit internet explorer, I receive an error.....the program not responding box, and it ask if I would like to send the the report.
Can you help me????
Thank you for your time!
