I am upgrading the memory for my Dell XPS M140 laptop and I can find one chip that looks to be 512MB. It is located under a hatch on the bottom of the computer. The computer is showing 1 Gig of memory so I assumed (most likely a mistake) that I would need another 1 gig to max it out, since it can be upgraded to 2 gigs. My question is: is that the only slot for upgradable memory? If not, where are the other chips located? If I order from Dell, the 2 gig upgrade, it is two chips, as they are showing/describing it. Thanks for the help.

Hello Tazz1037...

What you've found is the DIMM B module. The other module (DIMM A) is under the keyboard. You can read the instructions in the online manual Here.
