Sometimes my speakers work, but sometimes they refuse to power up. Is something wrong with my speakers, or my computer? What do I do?

sometimes they refuse to power up

Does this indicate that they are powered speakers, i.e. you need to plug them into a power source and not just the computer? If they are powered, and sometimes they don't power on, it's the speakers' fault. If they aren't powered, and sometimes work and sometimes don't, it could be the computer. Try using the computer with different speakers for a while. Try using an MP3 player or other audio device with the speakers for a while. If the problem still happens, that can narrow down the source of the problem.

Good luck!
