Hello, I am currently having problems with a Phillips DvDr1660P1 The firm ware is at it highest and newest.

When i place a disk into the drive i begins to "Rev up" Then a small disc appears on the side of my mouse and then nothing. When i go to my computer and double click the DvD-RW It says please insert a disc. I have tried multiple discs (DvD, CD and just a plain music CD)

I have it connected properly and the little pin is in the the middle slot.

If you need anymore information on this please do not hesitate to ask. All help is welcome.

Also if you need a DxDiag just ask.

Thanks Poseido! :)

Hello Poseido,

You can check to see if there are filters set on the drive. The following MS KB will show you how to check for and resolve this issue:
You can no longer access the CD drive or the DVD drive, or you receive an error message after you remove a CD recording program or a DVD recording program in Windows XP: "error code 31"

Otherwise, go to the device manager and see if you have any devices that have any warnings or errors. If so, try uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers.

Regards,

Ax
