Recently, by request of another, I tried downloading a key generator for Norton Antivirus via torrent. The downloaded file disappeared entirely when I clicked on it, but ever since then Norton has run fine as if it were registered, despite my never punching in a key. Both Norton and AVG constantly ask for updates that never install correctly. They will scan, but never turn back a result. I'm certain that key gen is the root of my problem, and right now I want nothing more than to have Norton off my system, though I'm afraid uninstalling it will cause a problem if it is infected. I tried researching viruses that target antivirus programs, but all of the results came back with problems much more intense than my own, and it's made me fearful that it's only going to get worse. I spent the better half of the night skimming this site, and downloaded HijackThis. My log is as follows.
