Hi

A week before I started to receive pop windows like "your computer might have affected with malware and spyware viruses..." So I downloaded free antivirus spyware doctor. After running that it detected that my computer was affected with trojan.vitrumode and also failed to clean it.

It started to give me the pop message saying

"spyware doctor has blocked an application explorer.exe attempting to access a file

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32\vturr.dll

Threat: Trojan.Vitrumode.

Risk level:Elevated."

Then after rebooting the system I could have my desktop for about 6 seconds then it appears blank with no icons on it. But my cursor moves so I pressed ctrl alt and del for task manager and pressed new task and opened desktop. my icons stay there until I shutdown if I reboot again I am having the same problem. Not only this but I have started to receive an error message saying

"The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32\vturr.dll is not valid windows image. please check this against your installation diskette."

Finally, I tried to restore my system. I am not able to restore it saying "system restoration is incomplete"

I think so my computer is sufftering from a major virus effect. please somebody help me. I am not a great computer girl. I have also gone through some the other posts regarding this I couldn't understand nothing. I am worried very much. please somebody help me Its very urgent.

Hello

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
  • Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

      -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Close any open browsers.
    • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
    • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
    • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

  • Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**
