hi there,

my microphone has been working till a few days back....everytime i plugged in my mic, a window used 2 pop up on the screen that asked me to chose options-and i wud pick the one that said: line in/microphone

then, once when i booted my system, i got a blue screen..an error message....i rebooted, the system is working fine....but now, the popup window doesnt come up when i plug in the mic....

i checked the sound option in the control panel...it shows that the microphone is working...but when i rum a call setup assistant, it doesnt detect my voice in the mic

i tried using another mic...but tht doesnt seem to be the problem...in any case, atleast that window should pop up!

also, i dont understand why , when i click the volume icon at the bottom right on the task pane, it only shows me volume control for the speakers not the mic...but when i checked through the control panel option, it doesnt seem to be on mute or anything...i think the key is...finiding out why the pop up window doesnt coem up anymore!

please help if u hv de solution! thanks a lot!
