I started getting the "cant display page" response from anywhere I attempt to go using IE7. When I use the diagnostic I get the response that there is a problem with the winsock cataloge. I have tried using the run lines netsh winsock reset and sfc /scannow. The first did not fix the problem and the second one found no corrupt files. I have found that by using system restore I can get it working again for a day or two then it goes back to not displaying any pages in IE.

Any suggestions short of doing a repair installation of XP SP2?

Some relevant reading, hopefully useful:
