Hi, please assist me to remove a virus, I believe received when trying to download a game off the Internet.

My computer now "freezes" and it won't even turn off by pressing the button, have to un-plug it from power point.

Details are as follows:

Scan type: Auto-Protect Scan
Event: Threat Found!
Threat: W32.Versie.A
File: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\rejoice101.exe
Location: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo
Computer: VIV
User: Vivienne
Action taken: Clean failed : Quarantine failed : Access denied
Date found: Sunday, 24 February 2008 6:40:51 PM

Would appreciate any help.

Hi Katrina before I can start cleaning I need to know what else is on your system so ........

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
