Please note that I was unable to follow the steps requested in the above posts because my computer would not download any of the applications. So I was hoping that by posting a Hijack log now, we could fix that problem and then I could go back and do the other steps. My computer keeps coming up with virus alerts (which I'm pretty sure are fake) so I just exit out of them instead of downloading the software they say will fix it. Anyways, here is my log. Thank you in advance for any help you give.

Hi blinkadict

welcome to geekstogo :)

sorry to keep you waiting. lets do a deeper scan of your machine for me to analyse.

(if your problem has already been resolved, could you just let me know so that i an move onto other logs to help others, thanks)

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

you may need to post the logs over 2 replies to ensure all the information is posted.

if you are unable to download and run DSS, then just post a new hijackthis log and we will go from there.

Hi, I actually just did a system restore to a few days before the first signs of the virus and that seemed to fix it. Thanks for your time!
