Hi everybody I have this problem I want to run Ubuntu on my desktop but my wireless connection isn't working. Ubuntu doesn't detect anything. So is there a program that i can use that will let me use my windows drivers. Or some type of converter. I have a 2Wire its a 802.11g wireless adapter. Please Help. Thank You.

hi, a lot depends of whether the WIFI maker is one that linux detects either naturally, (but in this case not), or by using a bridge program such as ndiswrapper(a windows WIFI driver using program), or by using ndiswrapper yes but also loading the windows driver from the CD,

the best bet would be to download ndiswrapper first, then if no joy adding the driver from the CD, and then if no joy again, finding out which WIFI stick works with ubuntu(MSI and quite a few others do) by looking at the WIKI on the ubuntu forum site

anyway some WIFI devices just don't work with linux, but the price of a WIFI USB key is very not too high and useful as something that can be used with any other machine running the same distro

this is a link to the wireless cards...usb...ect supported by unbuntu...list of... Works "out of the box"
