Hello!

I'm very sorry if I unintentionally disobeyed any rules, I read FAQ and I hope I'm not doing anything wrong. ;)

I've read many of your answers to the problem with this smitfraud Trojan nad I tried my best. All I achieved is that I got the desktop & wallpaper thing fixed, but I still have a red icon with a white "X" in my system tray, my IE startpage is something like "http://newgenlook blablabla" (I deleted it from Register but it seems to appear there every 5 minutes or so). And I get 20 icons every 3-5 minutes - they are always the same (I deleted their pictures, but the icons still apear) and well I gget a lot of popup messages. :)
My Norton Antivirus showed infection in wp.exe and I manually deleted this wp files. So how is it possible that the program starts every time I run Windows?
I used Adaware, Spytbot - they found some things, but when I restart Windows I still get the icon in tray, the changed startpage and the popups. I'm losing my faith :tazz:

Here is my log from Hijack:

In case you found them suspicious, GaduGadu (gg.exe) is a Polish hybrid of ICQ and EventsReminder is a program my roommate wrote for me :)

If you have any suggestions as to what I could do, then I will be forever grateful ;)

This is your problem:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Generic Host Process for Win32 Services] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\svchost.exe

The real svchost.exe lives in C:\WINDOWS\System32\

Check and Fix Check the above and

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.newgenlook.info/ad/ad0278/

Best to do it in Safe Mode.

Hello!

Thanks, in the meantime I managed to get rid of it somehow by deleting this .dll file - param32.dll or something like this.
And then I installed SP2 which resulted in my computer going all crazy so I had to format my disk and re-install XP anyway ;)

And just BTW - SP2 is evil  I installed it twice and both times it totally crashed my computer - everything was running so fast I was afraid my computer is going to set itself on fire :tazz:

But thanks for your help. You are very helpful people ;)
