I am trying to access my Microsoft Office Outlook email from a remote location. At home I can type the url with /exchange at the end and the login screen appears. I do use Firefox at home. At work, using IE, all I get is "Page cannot be displayed". Is there a setting in IE that I can change to fix the problem?

where is the email located? i assume

At home I can type the url with /exchange at the end and the login screen appears.

looks like this "http://mail.mycompan...y.com/exchange" correct? i also assume you're trying to get to your work email? some companies do not allow internal connections to the OWA server (what you're connecting to) or at the very least don't route to it by the same address (it would probably be an internal address instead of the public one that you're using)...i suggest you speak with your IT staff and see what they say
