I'm still requesting help for this, but, now that I think about this, I'm not sure if there are 2 hardrives or not.... I'm now confused. I know it has to partitions. C & D..... I just deleted D. And when I'm at the beginning of the XP PRO installation set up....it only gives me a choice of D to install XP PRO in. What about C. Is that where windows 98 is? Or should I delete Partition C too? Thats where it of course has all of the whistles and bells that make the barebone computer run without an os on it....if i delete that stuff....n it doesn't accept a an installation afterwards....I'm screwed. I need help on this partition issue too......plus below........THANKS AGAIN

(ORIGINAL REQUEST BELOW)
I want to uninstall windows 98.

Can someone help me? My problem is this....

I have a computer (no name brand) that is dated to d early 2000's. It has windows 98 on it. I just freshly installed windows xp pro on it think that would get rid of the old os, but, it didn't. The other issue is that I have 2 hardrives on this computer. Partition C & Patition D. It looks like xp pro is on Drive D. It doesn't matter if I need to do a complete/fresh install of xp. It's not the matter of keeping xp pro on it.....I just want 2 get rid of "windows 98." I'm not even close to being an expert at this, and I'm probably a poor novice at it as well. I desperately need somebody's help on this. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

P.s. I may still have the windows 98 os disc.....I'm not sure? But, I do have the xp pro os disc with service pack 1 only.

Let me know what else you need from me and I will try to help you out....remember, I'm not a geek at this....just a partially informed consumer. THANKS AGAIN
