i'm thinking of renting a game server for Counter Strike: Source and I wanted to ask two main questions:

1) Where is the best place to rent? I have only looked at two places: InX gaming and RTL-servers the cheapest i have found is roughly £40 a month (I'm looking for 100 tick and 1000FPS and 16 slot)

2) Could any of you help with admin commands or show me a link to where I could find a list?

I do not know that much about renting servers but my caln, in the US, uses GameServers: http://www.gameservers.com/
He has like 2 servers from them I believe. A CS:Source Zombie Mod and a TF2 server. They run great, no lag.
If you have a lot of bandwidth (FiOS or something) you could make your own server but I am guessing that not a lot of people have access to that. That is what I am doing right now. It is a TF2 server.

Hi, the price sounds right for that server.

I don't know to much about U.K. companies so you just have to research them a bit. About server commands, If you are to use this server for scrims or clan wars do not use AMXX, rather you will have to learn RCON commands which are very easy to pick up. Other wise you can install AMXX on your server for easier handling and some fun commands (noclip etcetera..). http://www.amxmodx.org/ you need to install the things you want before you can use the commands (obviously) one thing that just makes it easier is the UAIO (Ultimate all in one) plugin which like the name says gives you all the commands you will need. For a list of commands, after you install the plugin and login on your server as an admin you can type in the console (toggle by the ~ button) amx_help and it will give you all the commands avalible to you.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Well, to answer your questions...

1) I think Hintserv could be a good place to check out at this point... From the information your giving me, we would probably offer the cheapest pricing for what you need with really high quality servers to go along with it.

2) When you sign up with Hintserv for your server... you dont have to worry about going elsewhere to find admin command lines... we provide them in the support guide area for members. As well, we always have support. It's 24/7. Check us out if you want... I provided a link on the first questions answer. If you cant find it here it is again.
