HELP -- I am only able to access Intenet Explorer via "Safe Mode". I contacted my internet carrier and they checked several typical stuff like turning off modem, resetting it, checking the internet connections, etc.)

They basically gave up and told me it was something in the computer and I needed to take it in. I don't want to have to take the machine in though if I can avoid it. It will be a hassle for me to figure out how to plug it all back in again!

Any advice on what else I might try from home before I take it in?

if the internet is working in safe mode, that means that is an application or a security problem.
If you have internet security, that might be it, or maybe there are programs that are preventing you from browsing the internet.
It allows you to connect to the internet in safe mode because safe mode disables a lot of drivers and software applications including internet security. We dont require here to disable your security, im just saying that , it might be the one causing that problem.

thank you both -- i ended up saving all my docs and pics to a disc, then reloading the Windows Software and it took care of it. So, yep, it must have been a corrupted IE.
