I'm trying to delete a large number of old emails from Outlook 2002 (running Win XP Pro). When I do, I get an error message: "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error."

In researching this, I'm led to try and repair my outlook.pst file with the Inbox Repair tool (Scanpst.exe). Scanning seems to work fine, returning a message that says there are errors and click repair to fix them. Whenever I do so, the application hangs and I'm back to square one.

Any fixes for this one out there?

Thanks

Welcome to Geeks2Go, Warthog01. There's another (freeware) repair tool here which might work: http://www.olfolders...py/pstcopy1.htm
