I have firefox set to download to my desktop, but it never downloads to the desktop. It just downloads it and prompts me to open it, never saving it on my desktop to download it when I want to. I just installed Windows XP Pro and it began doing this after I dled Firefox with the same specs as last time.

Thanks,
Chris

right click on a empty space on your desktop...select new...folder...name it NEW DOWNLOADS ...
launch firefox...click on tools...options..main tab...where it says...save all files to...click on browse..click on your new downloads folder..then OK
from now on everything you download will be in that folder
