Hello all:

malware Post: HERE

When I try to run MBAM, it tries to run an installer for HP Memories Disc Creator and there is some sort of problem that makes it want to run this first. I have to cancel it about 10-15 times before MBAM runs. I can show the log part that I think is the problem, but I was told I was clean, and to post this question here:

Hi **Brian**...

The first thing I'd try is to update the AFS Driver and see if a corrupt driver file may be causing the problem.

If that doesn't do the trick, we'll dig a little deeper.

Could the program above have been deleted , and not wiped from the registry? I ran the AFS Driver as directed, and still get the same error - I wanna make sure that I am clear of this problem before continuing my training. Somehow, the programs I was asked to run unhid my known file extensions, which I rehid.

I will await your next response before proceeding with the next step ;-)

Thanks ;-) :)

I've been trying to determine if the software that's causing the error came preinstalled on your machine, or came with your all-in-one. Is your computer also an HP? If it is, what model is it?

I believe that HP Memories Disc Creator Came Preinstalled with my HP and she is an HP Pavilion M200y Media PC running Windows Media Center 2002 - I sure hope you can help me fix this one :-)

Wannabe1:

Shall I simply try to uninstall the HP Memories Disc Creator and then reinstall, or will this problem migrate to other executables?

Wannabe1:

I have uninstalled the HP Memories Disc Creator as instructed. Now, we shall see if we have any further difficulties!! I ran MBAM after the restart, and it seems to run without difficulties :)

Thanks for your Help Wannabe1 - I DO Sincerely appreciate it!
