What I'm confused by is if it means I should enable it or disable the option Because it says "recommended for 512MB RAM" and I have 512MB RAM.
What does this option mean?...

I can understand your being confused, the terminology isn't very good. When you check that box it lets the drivers and kernel reside in memory instead of caching them to the virtual memory on the hard drive. Checking it should speed up your system unless you are short of memory.

While you're in there, you should uncheck the "Restart automatically" check box. Then if a serious problem ever does occur, you'll actually see the error data and have a chance of fixing it.
