Hi Everyone,

I've got an HP DC5750S, which came preloaded with Vista. However, a lot of my everyday software is still not Vista compatible so I needed to dual boot the machine with XP (which I managed after some initial trouble.)

Network Adapter: Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet.

My problem now is as follows:

1. When I'm in Vista, everything works fine: Internet, LAN etc.
2. When I go into the XP partition it doesn't recognise the NIC so I can't connect to my LAN or internet.

Can anyone please suggest a solution? Step by step instructions to get XP to recognise the Network Interface Card would be great (without it knocking out the Vista NIC connection).

Hi Scott

Whilst xp has a great many built in drivers for most internal devices, and installs them as required when you setup xp, it seems not to have one for your network card (that's my guess). You can get both Vista & XP drivers for your model here:

Just make sure you are booted into XP when you install the XP driver

And because you probably didn't get any of the other drivers, I recommend getting all of them, and installing them in the following order: chipset, storage (if you have RAID), graphics, audio, NIC.
And, as pip22 mentioned, install them in XP! What I would recommend is downloading them in Vista, switching to XP, then running the programs.

Yes. If you click on your version of XP on the site that pip22 gave you, it will give you a list of all the drivers, utilities, and software available to you. Download what you want, but you will definitely need the drivers I mentioned.
