Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVER\etc\hosts
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the light Yellow bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • OTMoveit2 will create a log of moved files in the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder. The log's name will appear as the date and time it was created, with the format mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Open this log in Notepad and post its contents in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.
==============
Then do the Hosts expert again.

It should let you then.
===============
Then let me know if this computer is all symptom free.

Please go to Start>Run type in Notepad.
Copy what is in the code box below into the open Notepad window.
Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixthis.bat on your Desktop.
@Echo off
attrib -s -r -h "C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVER\etc\hosts"
Don't do anything with this yet.
=====================
*Reboot your computer into SafeMode.
You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.
Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.

Then please double click on fixthis.bat a window will open and close quickly.This is normal.

Then do the Host expert program again.

That didn't made Hostxperts to function. However, I found the solution to the problem. We previously used Hostexperts in so i clicked make read-only and restored ms hosts file. After which i clicked make readonly and it did the trick. no error is found. does this solved the HostExperts issue? Anyway, i tried entering a random site and still it was redirected.

That is correct.

Have you rebooted since replacing the hosts file?
If not then reboot.
If you have rebooted then do the following:
==========
Please download Runscanner to your desktop and run it.
  • When the first page comes up select Beginner Mode
  • On the next page select Save a binary .Run file (Recommended) then click Start full scan at the top.
  • At this time Runscanner.exe may request access to the Internet through your firewall please allow it to do so, it will then run for two or three minutes.
  • On completion it will ask for a location to save the file and a name. It will do this for both the .run file and the log file
  • Call the .run file "runscan" and save it to your desktop. You will see the .run file on your desktop. Upload that file here. If the forum doesn't let you upload it then please zip the .run file by right clicking and selecting send to Zip file

Then upload that as an attachment in your next post (you have to zip the .run file to upload it here).

Nothing showing there do the following:

download OTScanIt.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.

Note: You must be logged on to the system with an account that has Administrator privileges to run this program.
  • Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
  • Open the OTScanIt folder and double-click on OTScanIt.exe to start the program (if you are running on Vista then right-click the program and choose Run as Administrator).
  • In the Drivers section click on Non-Microsoft.
  • Under Additional Scans click the checkboxes in front of the following items to select them:
    • Reg - BotCheck
      File - Additional Folder Scans
  • Do not change any other settings.
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Use the Add Reply button and Copy/Paste the information back here. I will review it when it comes in. Make sure that the first line is code with brackets around it [] and that the last line is /code with brackets around it [].

If, after posting, the last line is not <End of Report> then the log is too big to fit into a single post and you will need to split it into multiple posts or attach it as a file.
