iTunes won't connect to internet

Please help, I have the latest version of itunes but i won't connect to the internet, itunes store works perfectly I have trouble trying to update my ipod software, it just comes up with 'no internet connection' even when i've got good connection. I've run a diagnostic and it shows no internet connection, what should I do please help thankyou

hi, welcome to geekstogo, please mention which system you are running since this section deals with linux or mac questions whereas if it is windows its the other section of this site
