Please, anyone, if this is illegal or violates the GTG TOU in any way please tell me and close this topic. I don't intend to do anything wrong.

Is there any way I can get sound off of a YouTube video to play on my mp3? I really like some of the piano pieces on there, and I think that it's unfortunate that I have to sit at my computer to listen.

Are they user played pieces or just musical scores uploaded into YouTube? I know some artists have a link on their profile to a place you can download their MP3's.

The only way I know of being able to download songs is to get a YouTube video downloaded app for your browser/computer, getting a video editing software program running, extract the audio from the video, throw the audio track into a sound editor and save it. As you can see, that's quite a hassle just to get 1 song, so if they aren't user played pieces I'd suggest finding an online radio station and perhaps a good pair of wireless speakers if you don't want to sit at your computer all day.

right, get yourself wavelab or soundforge...or any software to record audio.....record whatever you want , render it to mp3, wav or which ever format you want and sorted....i use youtube all the time for ripping samples for my beats....but i got my pc running through a mixer....you may need to mess with the sound settings to route the sound back in...

On an MP3, "nutta". You can't download videos onto MP3s. What do you think an MP3 is, an iPod?

My way is free I believe. If you find a Firefox plug-in that downloads YouTube videos (there's a couple out there), may need to convert the file to a file that WindowMovieMaker can recognize, seperate the sound file and use Audacity (also free) to fix it up. I'm not a real audiophile though so beyond the downloading/separation I'd be lost.

Thats against YouTube TOU if I remember correctly, You aren't allowed to download the videos hosted on their site.

you dont need to download videos to extract the sound!!!!

i dont mean download the mp3 or video , i meant download an audio program for recording...all you need to do is press play on youtube (without having to download the actual song) and record in what ever program your using , i use wavelab..then save what ever you've recorded in wave, wma, mp3,aiff whatever format you like,

Well,i found Faasoft Video Converter on Google. This youtube video converter can download videos from youtube and convert the download youtube videos to mp3 with high quality. I'm using it now.

I use yt2mp3.net. On the website they say it is legal. I would check it out.
